Norman Rice named to Seattle Magazine’s Hall of Fame

Norman Rice, a Casey Family Programs’ trustee since 2012, has been honored as an influential civic leader in Seattle Magazine’s Hall of Fame. Rice is recognized in the politics category for leadership in rejuvenating downtown Seattle as mayor of the city in the 1990s, as well as his ongoing civic engagement and commitment to racial diversity.

The magazine’s Hall of Fame showcases the innovators and trailblazers who have shaped and transformed Seattle. In addition to serving two terms as mayor of Seattle from 1990 to 1997, Rice is the former president and CEO of The Seattle Foundation, one of the nation’s largest community foundations. He also is former president and chief executive officer of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle.

Other prominent leaders honored by the magazine include Ron Sims, former King County Executive; Gary Locke, former governor of Washington; Paul Allen, Microsoft co-founder, businessman and philanthropist; and Pete Carroll, coach of the Seattle Seahawks.
