Jim Casey, the founder of United Parcel Service, established Casey Family Programs in 1966 to help improve the safety and success of vulnerable children and their families across America.

Thanks to his leadership and vision — and the commitment of his brothers and sister — Casey Family Programs is able to carry on this important mission today and for decades to come.

Jim Casey spent his working life revolutionizing package delivery across the globe. He drew on that experience to guide and inform the efforts of Casey Family Programs to provide and improve — and ultimately prevent the need for — foster care.

A strong, supportive family was critical to the success that Jim Casey and his siblings enjoyed. He credited his mother, Annie E. Casey, with keeping the young family together following the death of his father and for providing all of them with the love and guidance they needed to thrive.

Jim Casey was just a teenager himself in 1907 when he founded what would become United Parcel Service in Seattle, a rough-and-tumble town in the time of the Alaska Gold Rush. But he understood throughout his life that every child deserved a safe and supportive family and that every family needed a strong and caring community.

Casey Family Programs proudly carries on that tradition of building hope for children, families and the communities where they live.
