Casey Family Programs believes that to improve our nation’s child welfare systems, we must build effective partnerships with a broad range of organizations. We work in concert with national nonprofits, public policy associations, child welfare organizations and research institutions. These partnerships focus on topics ranging from improving federal, state, and tribal child welfare practice and policy to supporting cutting-edge research on child development.

AAPIP
Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) is a national membership organization dedicated to expanding and mobilizing philanthropic and community resources for underserved AAPI communities to build a more just and equitable society. AAPIP’s programs include a range of convening, research and advocacy, community philanthropy/Giving Circles and other incubation projects. These programs are designed to engage AAPI communities and philanthropy to address unmet needs, serve as a resource for and about AAPI communities, support informed, grassroots giving within and to AAPI communities and explore new ideas and approaches for social justice philanthropy.

African American Mayors Association
The African American Mayors Association (AAMA) is the only organization exclusively representing African American mayors in the United States. AAMA exists to empower local leaders for the benefit of their citizens. The role of the African American Mayors Association includes taking positions on public policies that impact the vitality and sustainability of cities, providing mayors with leadership and management tools, and creating a forum for member mayors to share best practices related to municipal management.

Alliance for Strong Families and Communities
The Alliance works with thousands of committed social sector leaders representing private social service and community providers. Their members operate both residential treatment facilities and non-residential community providers. The Alliance works to help their organizations more positively impact their communities. There are nearly 1,000 locations represented by the Alliance. Member locations are in 500 cities and 46 states. Members collectively have over 100,000 employees and more than 200,000 volunteers.

    Within Our Reach is an office established within the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities to further the recommendations of the Commission to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect Fatalities. The Alliance plays a coordinating role as a central point of contact and resource center in this national effort, which works to achieve its goals through a spirit of shared ownership among many partners. The goal of Within Our Reach is to equip policymakers, practitioners, and advocates with the tools they need to fundamentally reform child welfare. Based on the commission’s national strategy, desired reform includes a proactive public health approach—a shared family and community responsibility to keep children safe.

American Academy of Pediatrics
AAP is an organization of 67,000 pediatricians committed to the optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. They partner across social serving systems to improve outcomes for children both though policy and practice changes.

America’s Promise Alliance
Building on the legacy of its founder, Gen. Colin Powell, America’s Promise Alliance leads efforts to forge a strong and effective partnership alliance committed to seeing that children experience the fundamental resources they need to succeed.

American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law
The ABA Center on Children and the Law improves children’s lives through advances in law, justice, knowledge, practice and policy. The Center is a technical assistance, training and research program addressing law and court topics affecting children.

American Public Human Services Association
APHSA works to develop and promote policies and practices that improve the health and well-being of families, children and adults. The organization educates Congress, the media and the general public on social policies and practices and helps state and local public human service agencies achieve their desired outcomes in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, child care, child support, Medicaid, food stamps, child welfare and other program areas and issues that affect families, the elderly and people who are economically disadvantaged.

Aspen Institute
The Aspen Institute has earned a reputation for gathering diverse, nonpartisan thought leaders, creatives, scholars and members of the public to address some of the world’s most complex problems. The goal of these convenings is to have an impact beyond the conference room. They are designed to provoke, further and improve actions taken in the real world.

Association of Black Foundation Executives
Established in 1971, the Association of Black Foundation Executives is an independent membership organization that counts among its members the most influential staff, trustees and donors of grantmaking institutions that promote effective and responsive philanthropy in Black communities.

Black Administrators in Child Welfare
BACW is a nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of African American children and their families, who are gravely overrepresented in the nation’s child welfare system. Since its inception, BACW recognized that the lack of focus on African American children and families in the child welfare system was related to the lack of Black professionals involved in decision-making positions. As an advocate for the employment of Black executives in key administrative positions, BACW serves as a resource, support network and voice in an effort to alter and positively influence these conditions.

Chapin Hall
Established in 1985, Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago is an independent policy research center whose mission is to build knowledge that improves policies and programs for children and youth, families and their communities.

Child Trends
Child Trends is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research center that studies children at all stages of development. Child Trends’ mission is to improve outcomes for children by providing research, data and analysis to the people and institutions whose decisions and actions affect children, including program providers, the policy community, researchers, educators and the media.

Children’s Trust Fund Alliance
The Children’s Trust Fund Alliance is a membership organization that provides training, technical assistance and peer consulting opportunities to state Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds and strengthens their efforts to prevent child abuse.

Child Welfare League of America
CWLA is an association of nearly 800 public and private nonprofit agencies that assist more than 3.5 million abused and neglected children and their families each year with a range of services. The league advocates for the advancement of public policy and sets and promotes standards for best practice in child welfare.

Children’s Bureau, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
The Children’s Bureau seeks to provide for the safety, permanency and well-being of children through leadership, support for necessary services, and productive partnerships with states, tribes and communities.

Children’s Defense Fund
The CDF is a nonprofit child advocacy organization that has worked relentlessly for over 35 years to ensure a level playing field for all children. CDF champions policies and programs that lift children out of poverty, protect them from abuse and neglect, and ensure their access to health care, quality education and a moral and spiritual foundation.

Cities United
Launched in 2011, Cities United is a national movement focused on eliminating the violence in American cities related to African American men and boys. The 86 mayors (and counting) participating in Cities United intend to reduce homicides in their cities by 50 percent by the year 2025. Moreover, they are committed to restoring hope to their communities and building pathways to justice, employment, education and increased opportunities for residents.

Connecticut Council for Philanthropy
The Connecticut Council for Philanthropy is an association of grantmakers committed to promoting and supporting effective philanthropy for the public good. CCP is dedicated to providing its members with the highest quality programs, resources and services, networking opportunities, and insight and news about grantmaking and philanthropy.

Corporation for Supportive Housing
CSH resources help communities create and model cost-effective supportive housing to address many challenges including homelessness, unnecessary institutionalizations, mental health needs, substance use recovery, crime, family separations and poverty. Supportive housing is very affordable rental housing forming a platform of stability for vulnerable people who do not have a home or are leaving institutions or hospitals. It is linked to intensive case management and voluntary, life-improving services like health care, workforce development and child welfare.

Council on Foundations
The Council on Foundations is a national nonprofit association of more than 1,700 grantmaking foundations and corporations. The council advocates for philanthropy and strives to increase the effectiveness, stewardship and accountability of its sector while providing members with the services and support they need to advance the common good.

Delta State University
As a regional Carnegie Master’s university located in Cleveland, Mississippi, Delta State University serves as an educational and cultural center for the Mississippi Delta, emphasizing service to the Northern Delta counties and its campus centers in Clarksdale and Greenville in traditional and distance education formats. The University offers undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs of study leading to baccalaureate and master’s degrees in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Education and the School of Nursing, as well as the Educational Specialist degree and doctorates in Education and Nursing Practice. Emphasis is placed on excellence in instruction, followed by service and research, in the creation of a community of scholars.

is the national network for young people in foster care that helps open the way for them to transform their lives and provides a forum to raise their voice.

Generations United
Generations United focuses on improving the lives of children, youth and older people through intergenerational strategies, programs and public policies. Generations United represents more than 100 national, state and local organizations and individuals representing more than 70 million Americans. Since 1986 Generations United has served as a resource for educating policymakers and the public about the economic, social and personal imperatives of intergenerational cooperation. Generations United acts as a catalyst for stimulating collaboration between aging, children and youth organizations, providing a forum to explore areas of common ground while celebrating the richness of each generation.

Georgetown University Center for Juvenile Justice Reform and Systems Integration
The Center for Juvenile Justice Reform at Georgetown University’s Public Policy Institute is designed to support public agency leaders in the juvenile justice and related systems of care. The Center and its website seek to complement the good work being done across the country in juvenile justice reform by providing a multi-systems perspective and set of resources in support of this work.

National Association of Counsel for Children
NACC’s mission is to advance the rights, well-being, and opportunities of children and families impacted by the child welfare system through high-quality legal representation.

National Association of Public Child Welfare Administrators
NAPCWA is committed to ensuring that children in the public child welfare system have safe, permanent homes by supporting and enhancing the system’s ability to successfully implement effective programs, practices and policies.

National CASA/GAL Association for Children
The mission of the National CASA/GAL Association for Children, together with its state and local members, is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused or neglected child can be safe, establish permanence and have the opportunity to thrive. National CASA/GAL Association for Children and its network of 955 local community programs support volunteers serving children. The role of local CASA programs is to recruit, train and support volunteers in their work with abused children.

National Center for State Courts
The NCSC is the only organization dedicated to improving the administration of justice through leadership and service to state courts and courts around the world. As the premier information resource for the courts, the NCSC is the source of many innovations that have led to significant improvements in the nation’s judicial system. The NCSC has also been a partner in a number of national level efforts to assist court systems to improve their performance in child welfare cases and enhance collaboration among all stakeholders.

National Conference of State Legislatures
NCSL is a bipartisan organization that serves the legislators and staffs of the nation’s 50 states, its commonwealths and territories. NCSL provides research, technical assistance and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing state issues. NCSL is an effective and respected advocate for the interests of state governments before Congress and federal agencies.

National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges
The mission of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges is to provide all judges, courts and related agencies involved with juvenile, family and domestic violence cases with the knowledge and skills to improve the lives of the families and children who seek justice.

National Family Support Network
The mission of the NFSN is to promote positive outcomes for all children, families, and communities by leveraging the collective impact of state networks and championing quality family support and strengthening practices and policies. NFSN represents over 3,000 resource centers in 30 states.

National Foster Youth Institute
The National Foster Youth Institute envisions a nation where all children are raised in safe and loving families and where the child welfare system serves as a beacon of hope for families in need. To achieve our vision, we aim to transform the child welfare system and vastly improve outcomes for foster youth by empowering the youth and their families, building a grassroots movement in 435 congressional districts across the country, and partnering with committed policymakers. Truly transformative foster care reform will not come to fruition until the individuals who have personally experienced the child welfare system have a strong voice in the policymaking process. And NFYI is dedicated to ensuring their place at the table.

National Governors Association Center for Best Practices
The National Governors Association Center for Best Practices develops innovative solutions to today’s most pressing public policy challenges. The center is the only research and development firm that directly serves the nation’s governors. Through the NGA Center, governors and their advisors learn what works, what doesn’t and what lessons can be learned from other states grappling with similar challenges. They obtain specialized assistance designing and implementing new policy programs or improving the effectiveness of current programs.

National Urban League
The Urban League works to enable African Americans to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. The league is the nation’s oldest and largest community-based movement devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. Today, the National Urban League, headquartered in New York City, spearheads the nonpartisan efforts of its local affiliates. There are more than 100 local affiliates of the National Urban League located in 35 states and the District of Columbia providing direct services to more than 2 million people nationwide through programs, advocacy and research.

Native Americans in Philanthropy
The mission of Native Americans in Philanthropy is to advance philanthropic practices grounded in Native values and traditions. Native Americans in Philanthropy was formed in January 1990 when a group of Native people affiliated with philanthropic institutions convened at a national meeting in Chicago to discuss the socioeconomic status of Native people and the limited role philanthropy had played in helping this population.

The mission of Operation HOPE, Inc. is silver rights empowerment, making free enterprise work for everyone. The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is the largest and most diverse business association in the region. Founded in 1882 by local business leaders, the Chamber today is an independent organization representing 2,600 companies and a regional workforce of approximately 750,000. We seek an economically vibrant and globally competitive region where businesses of all sizes flourish and prosperity is shared. The Chamber is a business advocacy organization that helps our members thrive in an equitable and inclusive regional economy.

Southeastern Council of Foundations
The SECF is a membership association of more than 360 grantmakers working together to strengthen, promote and increase philanthropy in 11 southeastern states. SECF does not itself make grants. It leads a network of grantmakers and serves as a resource to philanthropy in the South.

United Way
United Way is a national network of more than 1,300 local organizations that work to create lasting positive changes in communities and people’s lives by addressing the underlying causes of the most significant local issues. While local United Ways tackle issues based on local needs, common areas of focus include helping children and youth succeed, improving access to health care, promoting self-sufficiency and strengthening families.

The United States Conference of Mayors
The United States Conference of Mayors is the official nonpartisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. There are 1,407 such cities in the country today. Each city is represented in the Conference by its chief elected official, the mayor.

Youth Law CenterQuality Parent Initiative (QPI)

The Youth Law Center advocates to transform foster care and juvenile justice systems across the nation so every child and youth can thrive. The Quality Parenting Initiative is an approach to strengthening foster care, refocusing on excellent parenting for all children in the child welfare system.

Youth Transition Funders Group
The YTFG is a network of grantmakers whose mission is to help all youth make a successful transition to adulthood by age 25. YTFG is dedicated to improving the lives of the 3 million young people between the ages of 14 and 24 in need of extra support.
