This 60-minute foundational webinar on Medicaid and Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) services provides participants with a greater understanding of who and what is covered, addressing children’s dental, complex behavioral health and mental health care needs, availability of waivers, and what it takes to amend state plans. Medicaid and Family First: Medicaid 201, May 21, 2019

This 90-minute webinar on Medicaid and the Family First Prevention Services Act explores how Medicaid interacts with Title IV-E funding to provide treatment options for vulnerable children and families. This session looks at how Medicaid and child welfare relate through the lens of Family First and provides participants with a better understanding of the avenues available for working with their Medicaid partners to create a service array that meets the needs of children, youth and families. Medicaid and Complex Needs: Medicaid 301, November 7, 2019

This 60-minute webinar, Medicaid Funded Services for Children and Families with Complex Health and Social Needs, builds on our previous Medicaid 101 and 201 webinars and provides a deeper dive into Medicaid-funded services for children, youth, and families involved in the child welfare system. Often, those in the child welfare system have significant physical health, behavioral, and social needs for which Medicaid-covered services may be critical to ensuring permanency. This information will be helpful as jurisdictions consider how they partner with Medicaid in planning for Family First implementation. Medicaid Managed Care: Medicaid 401, June 2, 2021

This 60-minute session provides an overview of Medicaid managed care as it relates to children and youth involved in the child welfare system. This webinar covers the trend in state Medicaid programs to transition youth into a managed care model as well as key considerations for states in evaluating managed care’s impact on children and youth in foster care.
